Telangana Govt to provide training to RMPs and PMPs

Hyderabad, Aug 22: The Telangana State government has decided to provide training to Rural Medical Practitioners (RMP) and Private Medical Practitioners (PMP), those who have been practicing medicine without MBBS degree, and later issue certificates that will allow them to practice medicine in districts.

On Monday, chairman of RMPs and PMPs Joint Action Committee (JAC) and MLA Srinivas Goud, along with several JAC members, met Health Minister C Laxma Reddy.

The Health Minister assured the JAC members that very soon an exercise to develop and strengthen skills and abilities of RMPs and PMPs, who have been providing their services at the village and district level for decades.

A panel of experts will be set up who will provide training to the RMPs and once the course is completed, a certificate and an identity card will also be provided.

The Health Minister directed the authorities to identify the RMPs who have to be trained and come up with a timetable for holding training sessions.
