Huge robbery in Hyderabad

Hyderabad, August 21: A huge robbery took place here in Hyderabad, the robbery has occurred in day light.

Coming to matter, unidentified persons waylaid a container truck, thrashed the driver and made away with cigarettes worth Rs 4 crore, on Saturday.

The truck was transporting cigarettes from Musheerabad to Tirupati in Chittoor district. As the lorry reached Pedda Amberpet, about 20 persons arrived in two Sumo SUVs and stopped the truck. Few people took the driver to a forest area near Malkapur and thrashed him before leaving him there.

Others transferred the cigarettes from the truck to another vehicle that they brought along with them.

The driver managed to reach Choutuppal police station and lodged a complaint.
