IIT Entrance to be conducted online

Chennai Aug 21: A shocking decision was taken recently.
The entrance test for undergraduate admissions to Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Joint Entrance Examination (Advanced), will only be conducted online from next year.
The above decision was taken at a meeting of the Joint Admission Board (JAB) of IITs in Chennai on Sunday. The news was confirmed by IIT Madras.
IIT Faculty have urged the Administrative body to take such decision because
* Ensure quicker evaluation.
* Reduce chances of paper leaks.
* No scope for awarding additional marks for printing errors.
The above changes would be applicable from 2018 entrance test.
The committee has also discussed several suggestions regarding the pattern of the exam and changes to be made for awarding marks to candidates and a final decision would be taken soon.
