New RS 50 note gone viral?

Mumbai Aug 18: A rumor has gone viral there are speculations over the release of new currency notes of Rs 50. The lower denomination note made headlines after currency notes in new design and serial number
were circulated on social media platforms earlier today.

According to pictures which have gone viral

* A radical change in the color scheme is the first thing to pop out.

* These Rs 50 notes sport a bright turquoise color.

* The alleged new Rs 50 notes will bear the Mahatma Gandhi 2005 series
and signature of Urjit Patel, the Governor of Reserve Bank of India (RBI).

The Reserve Bank of India last year has said that "it will shortly issue Rs 50 denomination banknotes in the Mahatma Gandhi Series-2005, without inset letter in both the number panels, bearing signature of Dr. Urjit R Patel, Governor, Reserve Bank of India, and the year of printing '2016' printed on the reverse of the banknote,"

However, experts claim these may not be new notes because of the features being circulated on the notes.
