Nitish Kumar orders CBI probe in RS  1000 Cr Scam

Patna Aug 18: A scam has been exposed. Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar yesterday recommended CBI probe into Bhagalpur Srijan scam.

Sources say that Rs 1,000 crore scam involves an alleged transfer of government funds to private accounts between 2005 and 2013 when BJP leader Sushil Kumar Modi was the finance minister.

CM has asked the state chief secretary to hand over the entire matter related to fraudulent withdrawal of government funds to the CBI.



Yesterday the Opposition Party members Tejaswi Yadav and his Father Lalu Prasad Yadav have demanded the resignation of Sushil Modi for his involvement in the scam.

Special Investigation Team has reported that "several crores were diverted from the bank accounts of different departments, including Mukhyamantri Shahari Vikas Yojna in Bhagalpur district, with the help of NGO Srijan Sahayog Mahila Vikas Samiti."

Sources say that 8 people were arrested in the scam and cases were booked against them.
