HC issued notices to TS govt over Miyapur Land scam

Hyderabad, Aug 17: The Common division bench of Hyderabad High Court on Wednesday has issued notices to the Telangana government over the Miyapur land scam.

The bench comprising Chief Justice Ramesh Ranganathan and Justice Uma Devi have directed the officers and several private individuals to file counter affidavits in the case seeking CBI probe into Miyapur land scam.

The bench was dealing with a case filed by Raghunandan, advocate and BJP leader. He had filed an additional affidavit bringing in all details of Supreme Court orders and how lands were sold even after the orders of Supreme Court. The details of 'Paigah' lands were given. The case is adjourned to September 13.

The same bench asked the Telangana government to inform to it about the measures taken for prevention of fatal accidents when small children fall into abandoned bore wells and tube wells, as per the guidelines of the Supreme Court.

The court directed the Principal Secretaries of Revenue, Panchayat Raj, and Home departments to file affidavits explaining the number of permissions granted for digging bore wells and what action has been taken against the persons who abandoned the borewells.

The bench inquired about the latest incident in Guntur district. The case is listed to August 30.
