Kailas Mansarovar Yatra suspended, pilgrims Airlifted

Pithoragarh, Aug 17: A sad news for devotees. Kailas Mansarovar yatra was temporarily suspended yesterday. The route between Mangti and Malpa which is a key travel route was damaged because of the recent cloudbursts.sources say that 8 people were dead in the incident.

D K Sharma, Kumaon Mandal Vikas Nigam officer has said that "47 pilgrims of the 16th batch were airlifted to Dharchula by helicopters,23 members of the 13th returning batch were airlifted to Pithoragarh from Gunji yesterday".

He has also said that "the remaining members of returning 13th batch will be airlifted today." Officials said that we are air lifting the passengers so that pilgrims yatra continues.

Sharma has said that 13 batches have completed the yatra and only 5 batches are remaining and we will ensure that the rest of the people also complete their yatra.
