CM KCR urged to boost the recruitment process

Hyderabad, Aug 17: The Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao has asked the Deputy Chief Minister, Kadiam Srihari, and other officials, including Chief Secretary S.P. Singh and TSPSC Chairman Ghanta Chakrapani, to draft a department-wide action plan and fill 84,000 vacancies.

At a meeting held here on Wednesday, he instructed the officials to meet once a week to expedite the recruitment process.

Mr. Srihari has been entrusted with the task of going about the recruitment of thousands of teachers in residential schools. The Chief Minister had also made a mention to this effect in his address on August 15.

On Wednesday, Mr. Rao discussed the matter with Mr. Singh and Prof. Chakrapani and asked them to brook no delay in the recruitment process.

The Chief Minister felt that the officials should be careful while preparing guidelines and ensure that there was no scope for any litigation. He wanted them to consult the law department before issuing any notification. He also asked them to be prepared to face the cases to be filed in the courts.

Prof. Chakrapani told the CM that through the Public Service Commission, over 5,000 people were appointed and recruitment of another 12,000 would be over in a month's time.

Consequently, Mr. Srihari, Mr. Singh, and Prof. Chakrapani held a meeting with Principal Secretaries Ramakrishna Rao (Finance), Adhar Sinha (General Administration), Law Secretary Niranjan Rao, Commission Secretary Vani Prasad and others and was decided to issue notifications immediately.
