34 Farmers committed  Suicide in Marathwada

Mumbai Aug 17: A government report has been unveiled recently.The report said that 34 farmers committed suicide in Marathwada region of Maharashtra in the last eight days. Currently, the region has received below-average rainfall this monsoon until August 15.

Aurangabad Divisional Commissioner has revealed the data and said that the farmers belong to eight districts of Marathwada.However, the causes for their suicide is not yet known.

The report said that nearly 580 farmer suicides have been reported in Marathwada till August 15 in 2017 and Beed district has topped the list with 107 suicides. Officials said that the main reason for farmers suicide is the lack of rains and the Kharif crops are in trouble.

However, The officials have urged farmers to grow low water intensity crops so that they would get more income and their lives would be saved.
