81 Lakh Aadhar cards deactivated

New Delhi Aug 16: Another shock has been received.The Government has said that It has deactivated approximately 81 lakh Aadhar cards citing various reasons.

Currently, Aadhar is a unique biometric based identification card issued to citizens and the cards importance has been significantly grown up with multiple schemes directly linked to Aadhar and it is mandatory to get avail government benefits.Currently, 111 crore citizens in the country have Aadhar cards.

Last week The government has deactivated 11.46 lakh PAN Cards on account of the existence of multiple or duplicate cards and there are 25 crore members who hold PAN cards.

Sources say that people can check their validity of 12 digit Unique ID card by following the steps

* People can visit the Aadhar help centers located near by.

* Log on to UIDAI website (https://uidai.gov.in. )

* Click the 'Aadhaar Services' tab.

* People can know the status of the card by clicking 'Verify Aadhaar Number'.

* Enter your Aadhar number and security number.

* The status of the card will be displayed.
