Chennai, August 16: DMK president and former Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu M. Karunanidhi has been admitted to Kauvery Hospital in Chennai on Wednesday.
According to the hospital's officials information, he will undergo a minor treatment and will be discharged later in the day.
Meanwhile, Mr. Karunanidhi has been invited to celebrate the birth centenary of his friend-turned-political rival M.G. Ramachandran, organised by the AIADMK government at the former's home town, Tiruvarur, on August 19.
The 94-year-old leader, who has been wheelchair-bound for quite some time, has not been keeping well. He had undergone a tracheotomy procedure in December last year when he had developed a lung infection.
