6 Million New Mobile Connections in June

New Delhi Aug 14: A data has been released. India telecom regulator has revealed the data of mobile connections.Some of the major highlights of the data revealed are

* Country's mobile phone customer base rose by 6 million in June.

* The total number of phone users have reached 1.19 billion.

* The mobile connections per 100 people, was at 92.12 as of June 30.

* The mobile tele-density in urban areas stood at 167.97.

* The mobile tele-density in rural areas stood at 57.31.

* The number of fixed-phone line subscribers dropped to 24 million by
end-June from 24.16 million at the end of May.

* The total tele-density of the country stood at 93.98.

* The total broadband connections In India stood at 300.84 million

* 282 million users accessed the internet through mobile phones and dongles.

* 18.3 million users accessed broadband through wire lines.

* 5.88 million mobile subscribers opted to change their service providers under MNP scheme.

* Bharti Airtel is the leading mobile service provider in India with 280.6 million users.

* Vodafone India takes the second spot with 211.9 million subscribers.

* Idea Cellular, with 196.3 million users, is third.

* Reliance Jio has 123.4 million users.

* Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) has 104.2 million subscribers.
