Heavy traffic witnessed on highways over sequent holidays

Nalgonda, Aug 13: Due to the sequential holidays leads to increase the Heavy traffic of vehicles have emerged at Panthangi and Korlapahad toll plazas in the district en route to Vijayawada and Guntur as people were heading to their native places in Andhra Pradesh for holiday.

The two toll plazas on National Highway No 65 witnessed the rush of vehicles between 7 am and 11 am on Saturday. Heavy traffic was witnessed at the two toll plazas on NH 65 on Saturday morning, with more than 100 vehicles stranded at Choutuppal.

Vehicle owners complained that they waited for about 20 minutes to get past the booths at Choutuppal. "But it was resolved soon," officials at the Panthangi toll plaza said.

More than 300 vehicles were seen waiting for their turn to cross the toll plaza at Korlapahad in the morning hours. It took more than 15 minutes for the vehicles to pay the tax and cross the toll plaza that resulted in lengthy lines.

The similar scene was witnessed at Panthangi toll plaza near Choutuppal in the district in the morning hours. Special arrangements were made at the toll plazas to clear the vehicles as early as possible.
