New method in Nandyala By elections

Nandyala, Aug 10: The Kurnool district collector Satyanarayana said that the Election Commission has introduced a new policy in the by-election of Nandyal. The conference was organized by the political party leaders at a collectorate conference hall on the latest policy.

Speaking at the conference, the Collector said that the EC announced that the counting of votes will be held on August 28, and electronic voting machines and Voter Verifiable Paper Audit Trail (VVPATs) will be used in all the polling stations.When the voter pressed the button of EVM, then a slip was printed, which represents party's symbol was dropped into the box.

Leaders of political parties who attended the meeting said this process was good.

The Nandyal bye-poll is due to be held on August 23.

Nandyal, a constituency in the state's Rayalaseema area, has been witnessing a political void ever since the death of its sitting MLA Bhuma Nagi Reddy from a heart attack on March 12.

The TDP candidate is Bhuma Brahmananda Reddy while the YSRCP candidate is Silpa Mohan Reddy.
