Fine for possessing plastic bags in Delhi

New Delhi, August 10: The National Green Tribunal (NGT) on Thursday ordered the interim ban on plastic bags less than 50 microns in Delhi's capital. NGT chairperson Justice Swatantra Kumar has ordered this. Using plastic bags, contrary to the rules, they are threatening to pay Rs.5000 fine.

In addition, The govt ordered to seize all the plastic bags of less than 50 microns in the next week. NGT has ordered the creation and submission of an affidavit with senior officials over the AAP government and the Delhi Pollution Control Committee to take any measures to reduce the waste of plastic.

The government has already negotiated to reduce waste disposal as much as possible. Vegetables and meat shoppers have warned in advance that they would have to pay a fine of 10 thousand rupees in public places.

Last month, the state legislature passed the Bill, which was introduced to ban plastic bags in the entire Madhya Pradesh government.
