TPCC chief demands apology from CM KCR

Karimnagar, Aug 09: The Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) president N. Uttam Kumar Reddy has demanded an apology from CM KCR over condemning the arrest of former Member of Parliament Ponnam Prabhakar in Karimnagar on Tuesday.

Uttam has accused that the TRS Government of suppressing all kinds of protests. He said Mr. Prabhakar was on hunger strike demanding the establishment of a medical college in Karimnagar as promised by the Chief Minister three years ago.

Instead of holding talks and giving a positive assurance, police stormed the hunger strike camp and took the Congress leader and other activists into custody, he said.

Mr. Reddy demanded that the Chief Minister must apologize for not fulfilling the promise and said instead of having an apologetic attitude for its failures, the TRS government is aggressively curbing all kinds of protest by the opposition parties and people.
