85000 passengers alloted berths under Flexi scheme :IR

New Delhi Aug 6: A scheme has ensured profits for a company.
A data was revealed regarding the revenue of Indian Railways.

* IR has earned an additional revenue of Rs 540 crore in less than a year through the flexi fare scheme.

* Railways has said it would continue the scheme.

* The scheme was launched on September 9 last year.

* Flexi fare system is applicable to Rajdhani, Shatabdi and Duronto trains.



* Under this scheme 10 per cent of the seats will be sold at
the normal fare.

* Rest of the seats unoccupied seats would be sold at a
10 per cent increase for every 10 per cent of berths sold
with a ceiling of 50 per cent.

* 85,000 Passengers were allotted berths in trains under the scheme.

Finally, officials hoped that more number of passengers adopt the scheme so that more revenue is generated.
