World Bank :No decision on Indus water

Washington Aug 3: An issue was clarified yesterday.
The World Bank yesterday has said that "discussions between India and Pakistan over Kishanganga and Ratle hydroelectric power plants to be built on Indus river are ongoing and no decision has been made yet".

The bank has also said that"the meetings earlier this week were held in a spirit of goodwill and cooperation. The parties have agreed to continue discussions and reconvene in September in Washington, DC".A two-day meeting of India and Pakistan officials has been concluded yesterday.

World Bank has also rejected the media reports about the permission granted for building the two electric power projects and Pakistan has agreed for the proposal. Earlier World Bank has decided to solve the issue because India earlier had decided to block the Indus water to Pakistan by constructing projects.

Let's hope that this issue would soon be resolved so that an age old problem disappears.
