Transgenders bill soon : Ramdas Athawale

Hyderabad, Aug 1: A meeting took place yesterday. Ramdas Athawale Union Minister of State for Social Justice and Empowerment yesterday has said that "the government will soon introduce a Transgenders Bill in Parliament". He also said that this bill will provide them their own rights.

He has also posed them a question that why do Transgenders wear only sarees. Minister has also said that "Hizras are facing a lot of problems and discrimination in terms of education and employment but when they are neither man or woman...why should they wear sarees".He has also said that "I am not going to force them, I only told them about my feeling...if they want to wear sarees they have the freedom".

Athwale has said the above remarks while he was speaking at a seminar held at the National Institute of Rural Development (NIRD) in Hyderabad. Let's hope that government soon passes the bill so that Transgenders would be protected.
