BSNL attacked by Cyber Criminals

Hyderabad, Aug 01: The Govt based Telecom operator Bharat Sanchar Nigam Ltd has affected by the Cyber Attackers.

The virus entitled as ' botnet', has affected the information built into modems used for BSNL’s broadband services across the country.

The company broadband services have been affected for three days.

The malware attacked internal modems in the National Internet Backbone of the BSNL and recently-installed modems manufactured by two Indian companies at the customer end. The BSNL has rectified the problem at NIB but it has to individually reset modems given to customers.

Top Officers from Hyderabad Telecom believed about 45 per cent of broadband connections were affected.

"Customers who have lost broadband connections can lodge complaints at 040-23231504 between 8 am and 8 pm, or can visit the nearest customer service center along with their modems between 10 am and 5 pm for quick resolution of the issue," Ms Alivelu said , GM of the company.
