Congress held protest against Siricilla mishap

Hyderabad, July 27: The Congress party leaders held protests at all the collectorates in the Telangana State against the police cruelty on 12 persons of Nerella village in Rajanna Sricilla district and submitted memoranda to the collectors at all the district headquarters.

The protests were led by senior leaders of the party belonging to the respective districts.

The Congress leaders demanded the suspension of Superintendent of Police of Rajanna-Sircilla district Vishwajit and other police officers responsible for the attack on Dalits, extension of assistance towards medical expenses to those who were subjected to physical torture, payment of Rs. 25 lakh compensation to the bereaved families of those who were killed in road accidents involving sand laden lorries, along with the dismissal of Sircilla MLA K.T. Rama Rao.



In Khammam, scores of Congress cadre led by TPCC working president Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka and MLC P. Sudhakar Reddy staged a protest at the Dharna Chowk here demanding exemplary punishment to those responsible for the alleged "inhuman act".

Addressing the demonstrators, Mr.Vikramarka alleged that the police subjected eight innocent villagers of Nerella to third-degree torture after implicating them in a "false case".
