CCI nods Vodafone -Idea Merger

New Delhi July 25: A permission was granted yesterday.
The Competition Commission of India yesterday has granted nod for Vodafone-Idea merger.

Sources say that CCI has put no conditions and no additional documents would be scrutinized and the letters of approval were sent to both the companies.



No2 and No 3 Telecom operators will soon approach SEBI for completing the remaining formalities.Companies have said that the merger would be completed within 6 months after all other regulatory approvals for the merger are received.

Earlier Vodafone and Idea have announced a merger plan because of the entry of the new player Reliance Jio which has shaken other telecom operators with its innovative pricing.

Finally, the Companies hope that the merger would improve the profits of both the companies.
