Farmers reject 24x7 power supply

Telangana July 25: An offer has been rejected. The farmers across various parts of the Telangana state have requested the government to withdraw 24 hours power supply to the fields.

Sources say that farmers are not happy with the uninterrupted power supply round the clock even though the power is supplied free of cost.

Experts have stated the following reasons for farmers disapproval of power

* They feel that ground water would be depleted fast.

* It is a burden from them to stop the bore motors after the fields are irrigated because of other works of farmers.



* Farmers are reluctant to remove Automatic starters attached to motors because they feel that it would help them when there is a power cut.

However, the electricity officials said that we cannot accept farmers request to supply 9 hours power,but we are trying to educate them to remove automatic starters so that power and water can be used judiciously whenever needed.

Let's hope that farmers reconsider their request because it would help them.
