AP CM Promises over Nandyal by-elections

Andhra Pradesh, Nandyal, July 23: The Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu has stated on Saturday that the government had sanctioned more funds to develop the Nandyal constituency than the Kuppam constituency.

While addressing a public meeting here, Mr. Naidu said his government was undertaking developmental work in Nandyal to fulfill the last wish of MLA Bhuma Nagi Reddy and not because of the ensuing by-election.

Mr. Naidu said 'Anna canteens' would be set up in Nandyal to serve lunch at a nominal price soon. In all, 13,000 houses would be built in the constituency, he said and announced sanction of Rs.90 crore for water supply improvement, sewerage and septage management, and minority girls’ residential college.

He promised a monthly pension of Rs.1,000 to beedi workers above 50 years of age. Mr. Naidu handed over a cheque for Rs.8 crore to self-help groups, interest-free loan of Rs 3.85 crore and sewing machines to 10,000 beneficiaries.

Assuring the sanction of ration cards and pension to all the eligible families, Mr. Naidu promised to construct triple bedroom houses for journalists.

He sanctioned Rs.3 crore for constructing additional classrooms and compound walls and toilets in 32 schools and Rs.60 lakh for constructing the Ambedkar Bhavan. A sum of Rs.67 crore would be disbursed to SC, ST, BC and minority beneficiaries. He promised a mega seed park in Nandyal.



Seeking the people's cooperation for widening the narrow roads in Nandyal, he assured disbursal of two-and-half times more compensation than the market value to the displaced and allotment of shops at nominal rents in a shopping complex being built.

Earlier, Mr. Naidu inspected regradation of the Chama Kalva and the Kundu river and road-widening works.

He laid the foundation stones for developmental works and performed Bhoomi puja for the APTIDCO housing at SRBC Colony.

He also inspected the ongoing work on the CC roads and the Anganwadi building at Kanala and other works in M. Chintakunta in Nandyal Mandal, Julepalle and Srinivasapuram villages in Gospadu Mandal.

He inspected a solid waste management site at Pasulapadu village and inspected a BT road from Gospadu to Tellapuri and interacted with people on the livelihood activities in Yallur village in Gospadu Mandal.

Deputy Chief Minister K.E. Krishnamurthy, Ministers Bhuma Akhila Priya, K. Srinivasulu, P. Narayana, S. Chandramohan Reddy, and C. Adinarayana Reddy, Nandyal MP S.P.Y. Reddy, AP Legislative Council Chairman A. Chakrapani, District Collector S. Satyanarayana, former Minister N. Md. Farooq, TDP candidate for Nandyal seat Bhuma Brahmananda Reddy and MLAs took part.

The Chief Minister made a night halt at the R & B guest house in Nandyal.
