Centre found 30 links connecting rivers

New Delhi, July 21: The Union Water Resources Minister Sanjeev Kumar Balyan said that there are 30 links have been identified for connecting rivers in the country.

In those links, eight links are found in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana. He replied to written letter in the Lok Sabha on Thursday, He said that the National Water Development Corporation has found 30 links, which connecting rivers in the country.

Among 30 links, 16 links in the peninsular territory(Southwest states), and remaining 14 are in Himalayan regions. The possibility report was completed, which states that in 16 peninsular territories, 14 on lands and 2 are in the Himalayas.

They will be studying environmental and socio-economic impacts while creating DPRs.
