Local Area Network to Arunachals capital soon

Itanagar, July 19: Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister Pema Khandu on Wednesday said the state capital complex (Itanagar-Naharlagun) would soon have specific Wi-Fi zones where citizens will get free access.

Khandu, who launched the Wi-Fi Local Area Network (LAN) at the State Civil Secretariat, advised the Information and Technology Department to coordinate with departments like Power, Home, and others to select specific zones in and around the capital that can be turned into free Wi-Fi zones.

"Our government, from day one, has focused on digitalising all its offices with the sole motto of rooting out corruption," he said.

"Paperless working system, once in place, will ensure transparency and accountability and will leave no space for corruption. For this to happen, the government needs the cooperation of its officers as well as citizens," Khandu said.

The Chief Minister also suggested sensitizing all officers and officials of the Secretariat on the latest facility and its advantages, besides informing visitors the process of accessing free Wi-Fi while in the Secretariat premises.

Khandu congratulated the Information Technology and National Informatics Centre officials for setting up the Wi-Fi service at the State Civil Secretariat in a record time of two weeks.

He said he foresaw seamless and smooth communications between ministries and departments and accelerated work delivery to the people.
