Deepika Padukone as new Academy member

Mumbai, July 19: Deepika Padukone is the newest member of the Academy of Motion Picture of Arts & Sciences.

The actress says she feels honored to be included in the Class of 2017.

we all knew that Deepika Hollywood debut with Vin Diesel's xXx: Return of Xander Cage.

she has expressed her happiness of being nominated as Academy member by twitter.

Deepika took his twitter handler and tweeted that "Honoured to be a new #Academymemeber. @TheAcademy # Classof2017,"

Apart from Deepika, Priyanka Chopra has also joined the Academy Class of 2017.

Other Indian stars who have been invited to join the Academy and vote in the Oscars include the likes of, Amitabh Bachchan, Aamir Khan, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, filmmakers Goutam Ghose, Buddhadeb Dasgupta, Salman Khan and Irrfan Khan.
