Accused in acid attack was arrested

Hyderabad, July 19: The accused has been arrested by the police on charges of acid attack on a young woman, who rejects his love proposal here on Tuesday.The incident took place in Dattatreyanagar area of Hyderabad city subdivision.

Balanagar DCP has revealed several details of the incident. According to his statement, a young woman named Kabir Begum of Dattatreyanagar works in a fan manufacturing company in Subhash Nagar.

The accused Pradeep Chalak of West Bengal, who works in the same company, has been harassing him for the past few years. The young lady could not bear the harassment and changed to another company.

However, she joined in the new company, he always trying to talk the victim. At 8.30 am on Monday, He would call her and said we need to talk come out once. he threatened to commit suicide when she refused.

When she came out, he picked a quarrel with her and after some time Pradeep took out the acid bottle from his pocket and threw it on Kabeera and ran away. She collapsed on the ground with severe burns.

Hearing her screams, her family came out of the house and rushed her to a hospital where doctors declared her condition to be critical.

The police registered the case and arrested on charges of cheating this day, Balanagar DPP Sai Shekhar said.
