YSRCP demands CBI inquiry on AP Secretariat

Andhra Pradesh: Amaravati, July 19: The Andhra Pradesh Secretariat is again facing the problem of rain water entered again into fourth block building on Tuesday from the roof following continuous rain for the last two days causing discomfort to employees.

The chambers of Ministers Devineni Uma Maheswara Rao, Ganta Srinivasa Rao, offices of principal secretary of Water Resource department, Revenue department, Stamps and Registrations section and some other rooms witnessed the seepage of rain water from the roof.

YSR Congress MLA Alla Ramakrishna Reddy, suspecting package deals behind the poor quality of the construction of the Secretariat, has demanded a CBI inquiry.

He alleged that the government paid Rs 10,000 per square feet against the normal rate of Rs 3,500. The public wants to know the causes, conspiracies, and illegalities in the Secretariat contract.

Recalling the CID inquiry into the water leakage in Mr. Jagan Mohan Reddy's chamber, he said that there was no progress by the CID despite the passing of a month.

Employees were disturbed in the rooms that witnessed flowing of rain water. Municipal Administration Minister P Narayana, who visited the fourth block, said the water entered into offices due to duck sheets that were getting damaged.

"It is a small issue and not worthy of highlighting. Some problems at initial stage are natural" he commented.
