Huge transfer in Excise Department

Hyderabad, July 19: Major transfers were made in the State Excise Department. Nearly all officers in the field have been displaced. On Tuesday, the government issued orders for transfer of 196 CIs along with 20 superintendents.

These transfers have been prominent in the face of the statewide debate over drug dealing. Transfers were made in the Excise Department branch in 2013 before the partition of the state.

This is the first time that transfers are made. With the ban on transfers, they continue to live there for four years. Since the recent Miyapur earthquake, the sarkar ordered the transfer of funds to the state exchequer.

The stamps and registrations were transmitted to this extent. The transition process was also completed in the excise Department branch.

Senior officials of the Revenue department said those on the transfer list had been serving in the same place and position for long.

The department had represented the matter to Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao during a recent meeting on reports of drug supply. The Chief Minister had asked the officials concerned to send the list of the proposed transfers. "The transfers are made after the Chief Minister gave his consent," the official said.
