Textile Traders call off strike against GST

Surat July 19: A strike was called off. Textile Traders in Surat have yesterday called off their 2 week-long strike. Earlier the traders have shut their shops and have performed dharnas against the imposition of 5 percent GST on textiles.

They have said we are giving a pause because the Centre has assured us that they would look into their demands. Earlier the traders have met the Finance Minister Arun Jaitley and submitted their demands.

Traders have said that the minister had said that issue would be taken up in next meeting on August 5. Finally, they have once again warned and said we will continue strike if the decision taken is against the favor of traders. Let's hope that government takes a positive decision on this issue.
