Football Stadium Stampede :8 killed

South Africa, July 17: A sad incident took place today. A stampede took place at Senegal's football stadium. Eight people were killed during the final of football league cup final in Dakar on Saturday.

Sources say that stampede occurred when people were trying to escape the firing of the police. Security officers said that they started firing in order to control the clashes that erupted in the audience.they have also said that 49 people were injured in this incident.

The emergency rescue team has reached the spot and has rushed the victims to nearest hospitals and treatment is going on.they have said that the death toll is expected to rise as the rescue operations continue.

Earlier today the African football team has expressed their condolences for the persons dead and they have strongly condemned the incident.Police have said that they are investigating the cases and more details are awaited.
