2 Held for ganja Smuggling

Hyderabad, July 11: Officials of Directorate of Revenue Intelligence, Hyderabad has been seized a truck loaded with ganja on Sunday at L.B. Nagar.

The seizure was made public on Tuesday. Officials said 579 kg of the contraband was being transported. Upon being tipped off about the truck that was headed to Solapur, Maharashtra, officials nabbed two persons who were in the truck and uncovered the contraband under a false flooring on the backside of the truck. In all, 278 packets of ganja worth Rs. 58 lakh was seized.

Cases were booked under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances act.

Meanwhile, three Rwandan nationals were arrested by the police on Tuesday. About two kilograms of the contraband was seized.

Humayun Nagar police named the accused as Nizeyimana Santos, Ruganza Patrick and Kabalisa Richard.

All the three accused are students and live together in M.D. Lines. The police were tipped off about the trio possessing ganja and raided their flat.
