Anganwadi workers will come under PF

New Delhi, July 11: The Central Minister for Labor and Employment, Bandaru Dattatreya said that Anganwadi teachers and Asha workers will be covered under the Provident Fund (PF). In this aspect, The Labor, Human Resources, Medical, Women and Child Welfare Departments are holding sessions and discussing this issue.

The Centre is planning that the midday meal and 'Aasha' workers will be brought under the PF to provide social security. The Union Minister spoke with reporters on Monday at the EPF Regional Office in Hyderabad and also with PF commissioner M Sreekrishna.

The campaign was launched across the country from January 1 to June 30, with the aim of introducing new members in EPF and Employees State Insurance Corporation (ESIC).

The PF transactions have only been done through SBI and have recently signed agreements with 5 government and 5 private banks in order to increase competitiveness. If the Telugu states governments will allocate lands, they will build houses for the workers.

Minister said "Employers can get the registration of establishment online. EPF pensioners when they enrolled digitally with the Jeevan Pramaan web portal, it would facilitate to receive the pension either through banks or through post offices", he added.

The Employees State Insurance Corporation (ESIC) has chalked out plans to set up new hospitals in Telangana State. The ESIC is going to upgrade the hospital in Nizamabad to 50-bed level, he revealed.
