GST : Central Government warns restaurants

New Delhi, Jul 10: The central Government warned the restaurant owners that they would go to jail if they want to charge a service charge from the customers coming to them here on today.

Also, have issued the guidelines on which the Service charges should be considered only as Tip. If in case, the Hotel management forces to pay service taxes, then they will be imprisoned.

The People could approach the Consumer Court on charges of service charge, said the Union General Secretary Avinash K Srivatsava said.

Responding to this, the General Secretary of National Foods Association of India (NRAI), Prakul Kumar said the service charge is not a violation of the collective laws.

These provisions released by Center guidelines do not come under the law and claimed it as those are nothing but just creating confusion in their customers.
