Union Government prepares roadmap for Widows

New Delhi, July 8: A new initiative is being taken up by the central government. The Union Government has said to the supreme court that it is preparing a new roadmap for improving the conditions of widows in the country.

Solicitor General Ranjit Kumar has submitted the government's response in the court yesterday. SG has also said that we have prepared an action plan according to the directions issued by the court.

Earlier Supreme Court has urged the center to formulate a policy to improve the condition of Destitute widows based on the suggestions made by National Commission for Women (NCW).

The government has acted upon the court instructions and framed a roadmap. The court has made the following remarks while hearing the petition by women regarding the pathetic condition of widows. Let's hope that the government implements the action plan so that the condition of widows is improved.
