New Delhi, July 7: The Supreme Court has yesterday Slammed the media. The Apex Court has said that local and International Media have given extensive coverage to Justice CS Karnan and they remained "unmindful" of the damage it has caused to the judiciary by "merrily" riding the high court judges wave.

The Court has also said that the judge had made Indian Judiciary a "laughing stock" and this gave an opportunity to foreign media, including BBC, to take a "dig at the Indian judiciary".

CJI JS Kehrer has said that we have ordered him from doing Judicial work but he gave interviews to media and they have telecasted it.Some of the examples where the media gave him exclusive coverage are as follows

* Karnan has ordered the police on April 13 to register a case against all seven members of
Supreme Court bench under the provisions of the Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes
(Prevention of Atrocities) Act, 1989.

* He has also ordered the Air Control Authority, New Delhi on April 28 not to allow any of
the seven members of the bench to travel abroad.

* The former judge on May 7 has sentenced all the seven members of the bench to five years
rigorous imprisonment.
