Anti-Smuggling Task Force seized Red Sander logs

Andhra Pradesh: Tirupati, July 3: Here a goods vehicle containing 21 red sander logs was seized by the Red Sanders Anti-Smuggling Task Force (RSASTF) near the forest fringe area near Grand World Hotel in the Tirupati here on Sunday.

The RSASTF team led by RSI Vijay along with deputy forest range officer (DyRO) Srinivas took up searches in the forest fringe area near the Grand World Hotel.

This is one of the (forest) exit points the smugglers frequently use for illegal transportation to Tamil Nadu.

In the early hours of Sunday, the team found a goods vehicle parked in a desolated place and a group of men suspected as smugglers standing around the vehicle.

Even as the task force Police neared the vehicle, the smugglers ran back into the forest and escaped taking advantage of darkness.

In the search of the vehicle, the task force personnel found 21 good quality red sanders.
