Vishakapatnam bags Guinness Record

Andhra Pradesh: Vishakapatnam, July 2: The Vishakapatnam city has entered the Guinness Book of World Records for conducting the biggest Treasure Hunt program.

As many as 1,877 participated in the Treasure Hunt jointly conducted by Vasavi Club Greater Visakha Couples and Prism Degree College on the day, surpassing the Guinness record for the event which stood at 1,384 participants.

Though 3,000 took part on the day, some dropped out midway but 1,877 breasted the tape to complete the event.

Earlier, HRD Minister Ganta Srinivasa Rao who flagged off the participants in the morning said Visakhapatnam was known for setting new world records.

Visakhapatnam MP K Haribabu called for conducting more such events. Guinness Records chief judge Jaya Simha and others were present.
