Aadhar offices to be relocated

New Delhi, July 2: Government has taken one more step for strengthening the privacy of Aadhar. UIDAI a nodal agency for issuing Aadhar has ordered the state governments to make sure that all Aadhar issuing centres must shift their offices to Government or municipality premises.

The nodal agency has given a deadline of September 1 for implementing the order and it will be applicable for all private agencies.The agency said that this move would help that would help them to supervise 25000 enrolment centers.

They have also said that it will prevent private operators overcharging at enrolment agencies. Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) CEO Ajay Bhushan Pandey has said that"he has written to all states on this issue and make sure all private centers shift their offices before August 31".

He also said that many centers can be re-located nearby banks, block offices, taluk offices or other delivery offices run by state government where there is supervision by the government.Finally, he said that this move will help people to locate the enrollment centers and it would strengthen the privacy of Aadhar.
