KTR :TS government recognized the importance of textiles sector

Hyderabad, July 01: The 'Textile India Summit' inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi at Gandhi Nagar, in Gujarat, here on Friday.

Union Minister for Textiles Smriti Irani and Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh N.Chandrababu Naidu were also present at the roundtable.

Telangana Dynamic Leader and Handlooms and Textiles Minister K. T. Rama Rao has enunciated the need for a national policy for promoting textiles, which he said, was the second biggest employment generating sector after agriculture.

Mr. Rama Rao said the Telangana government recognized the importance of textiles sector and resolved to establish a 'Mega Textile Park' in Warangal.

He assured that the government’s textile policy would be as revolutionary as the industrial policy, and extended the invitation for investment.

The cotton produced by Telangana is of good quality, he said, urging the investors to avail the advantage of the better quality of cotton.

In line with its 'Meet or Beat' policy, the Telangana government is ready to offer opportunities that will either match or supersede any package offered anywhere in the world for industries, Mr.Rama Rao said.
