GST :Cars to bring cheers for customers

New Delhi June 30: India will witness a huge reform within few hours.GST will be implemented from July 1. However car manufacturers have expressed their happiness for GST because the prices will be dropped.
Let's check how will GST impact different segments of the car industry.

Small cars: Currently 31.4 % tax is levied but GST rate of 28 % will be applicable.

* Swift Dzire
* i20 Elite
Experts say that prices of above cars will be reduced by a margin of RS 10000-15000.

Medium sized cars: The taxes on these cars will be lowered by 3.6 %.



* Sedans Honda City
* Hyundai Verna
* Maruti Ciaz
* Volkswagen Vento
Experts say that prices of above cars will drop in a range of RS 30000.

Luxury cars: The taxes on these vehicles will be lowered by 8.8 %.

* Mercedes-Benz
* BMW
* Audi
* Jaguar Land Rover
The above car companies are offering a discount of Rs 1.25 lakh going up to Rs 7 lakh.

SUV vehicles will be charged at 43 % compared to current 55.3 %.
however Hybrid cars are taxed at 43 % GST which will make these costly. Experts say that the impact of GST on bikes and scooters would be neutral.
