APNGO Chief called up a protest

Srikakulam June 27: The Andhra Pradesh Non-gazetted Officers (APNGO)'s President Hanumanthu Sairam has called the workers to participate in the Protest titled as Chalo Collectorate program in Srikakulam District, which will be held on July 3 to step up pressure on the government on various issues including enhancement of minimum wages to Rs. 18,000.against hiking wages here on Monday.

The Centre of Indian Trade Unions (CITU) organized a roundtable in APNGOs' Home here.

While speaking on the occasion, he said that Anganwadi, Asha and municipal workers were leading a pathetic life with meagre salaries.

He felt that the government offices would not function effectively when supporting staff did not get proper wages.

CITU State vice-president D. Govinda Rao, district president K. Srinivas said that over 20,000 workers would participate in the proposed protest at Srikakulam Collector's office.
