Movie ticket price hiked

Hyderabad, June 27: A sad news for movie lovers, As Movie ticket rates will be revised across the State with effect from July 1.

The State government, following a request from the Telugu film industry, has permitted the industry to hike ticket prices from July 1, according to sources.

In multiplexes, a ticket will now cost Rs 300 for Gold/Royal Class and Rs 200 for Executive/ Regular class, against Rs 250 and Rs 150 at present. However, multiplexes should charge 20 per cent less than the maximum ticket price for seats in the first two rows from the screen.

Accordingly, cinema tickets in the top bracket, which were sold at Rs.60-Rs.80, will be at Rs.120 in the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation limits, while in municipalities, theatre owners can hike the higher class ticket from Rs.50 to Rs.80.

In panchayats, the prices will be hiked from Rs.40 to Rs.70. Similarly, all lower class tickets, which were priced at a minimum of Rs.10, will now be available for Rs.20.
