Ticketless travel: SCR collects whomping Rs. 1.05 lakh

Hyderabad June 25: The South Central Railway officials have been conducted a major drive to curb ticketless travel here on Saturday.

Following the drive, As many as 360 persons were apprehended during a drive undertaken by the Hyderabad Division of the South Central Railway on Friday.

Coming to details that, an SCR release on the Mega Fortress Check and Magisterial Check said 284 of the persons were traveling without tickets, while 76 cases of un-booked luggage were detected.

Nearly Rs. 1.05 lakh was realized as the penalty during the checks, which were carried out under the overall supervision of B.D. Christopher, Senior Divisional Commercial Manager and M.S. Sunil, Senior Divisional Security Commissioner, Hyderabad Division.

The release also said that A total of 23 ticketless passengers were prosecuted with the help of the IInd Metropolitan Magistrate and 1st Class Magistrate for Railways, Secunderabad, who attended a camp court conducted at Shadnagar near here.
