After the blockbuster movie Sarrainodu, Allu Arjun has shocked one and all by donning the role of Jagannadha Sastry in Duvvada Jagannadham. Since the first look was unveiled, there has been a great buzz about the film. In addition to the Allu Arjun – Dil Raju combo, Gabbar Singh director Harish Shankar has taken DJ to a new high. The film's teaser and trailers have raised the expectations bar further and the pre-release trade says it all. Without further delay, check out our verdict of DJ.

Plot :

Duvvada Jagannadham aka Jagannadha Sastry (Allu Arjun) works for Annapurna Catering in Agraharam in Vijayawada. His mission is simple and clear. He tries to rescue the investors in Agri Diamond and there's a personal connection to it. What is it? How Jagannadha Sastry does it? This sets the story.

Performances:

Allu Arjun is at his best. The way he molded himself for a Brahmin get-up deserve all applause. He shouldered the film. Right from the word go, he carries forward the film. Pooja Hegde is drop-dead gorgeous. She looks easy on eyes and performs well. Her chemistry with Allu Arjun has worked very well and it made the film more interesting. Rao Ramesh as baddie Naidu is impressive. His body language, attitude suits the character a lot. Posani Krishna Murali does a neat job. He does his usual. Vennela Kishore evokes laughs as Vigneswara Sastry aka Vigs. Chandra Mohan's emotional episode is heart-wrenching. Subba Raju is okay.

Analysis:

Revenge sagas are not new in T-town. They're done to death. Yet there's a way Duvvada Jagannadham has been weaved. Picking up a prevailing problem in the society, the way entire story has been weaved around makes DJ different from other movies. The film's strength lies in the protagonist Allu Arjun who effortlessly pulls the film. While story appears to be predictable, the screenplay is refreshing. The first half is decent and all the three songs that come in first half make the film more attracting, entertaining. Post interval, the film picks up and delves deep into the story. The pre-climax fight episode sees Allu Arjun on full throttle. The climax has been well-written and well-executed. It's not a run-of-the-mill climax you see for a star hero, yet it is a different attempt and it works.

Plus Points:

Allu Arjun as Jagannadha Sastry
Pooja Hegde
Vennela Kishore Comedy
Witty Dialogues
Devi's Music
Cinematography
Production Values

Minus Points:

Predictable Story

Final Verdict:

'Duvvada Jagannadham' is Allu Arjun’s show. Watch it for Bunny.
