Darjeeling Crisis GTA chief and 43 GJM members resign

Darjeeling, India June 23: A leader has resigned today. Gorkha Janmukti Morcha (GJM) chief Bimal Gurung has resigned to the post of chief executive of the Gorkhaland Territorial Administration (GTA) on Friday.

He has demanded a Central Bureau of Investigation CBI inquiry into the police firing on his fellow supporters. Earlier today 43 members of the GJM have resigned from the GTA.

The chief after resigning said that "we will continue the indefinite strike and we have postponed the all-party meeting to June 29." He also said that the "earlier agreement made on GTA would be burnt on June 27."

The GJM has also said that all schools in the Darjeeling hills must evacuate their students safely to Siliguri and Rongpo before 12 hours.The Indefinite bandh Was given by GJM on June 15 as a part to intensify protests for obtaining a separate state for Gorkhaland .lets hope that the protestors call off the strike keeping in view of the future of school children.
