ONGC initiates bike ambulances in tribal areas

Andhra Pradesh: West Godavari, June 23: The Oil and Natural Gas Corporation(ONGC) Asset inaugurated two innovative corporate social responsibility (CSR) activities on Thursday at Kota Ramachandrapuram village in West Godavari district.

ONGC contributed Rs. 3.5 lakh for three bike ambulances for use in tribal areas of Buttayagudem and Koyyalagudem. The bike ambulance has a stretcher attached. It has a first-aid kit and the riders are trained in first aid administration.

A sum of Rs. 3 lakh was sanctioned for setting up of a sanitary napkin making unit at Koyyalagudem village to cater to the needs of women in tribal areas as well as provide employment to the local people.

R.K. Sharma, General Manager, HR and R.S. Rama Rao, GM, CSR and K. Suresh Kumar, Helper-Grade-III (secretary, PEU) Shanmohan, Project Officer, ITDA, Kota Ramachandrapuram were among those who participated.
