Hyderabad June 23: The Telangana State Police has bagged a Central Government award for implementing smart passport verification process, a statement on Thursday said. On behalf of the Telangana Police, M Mahender Reddy, Commissioner of Police, will receive the award on Saturday on the occasion of Passport Seva Divas on June 24.
The Telangana Police has adopted a transparent and advanced technology for verification of the Passport applicant details. Telangana is the only State which is completing the verification process within 5 days and reduced the Tatkal applications for Passport.
For instance, about one lakh applications are received every year for the new passport from Hyderabad City alone. The strategy adopted by the Telangana Police in verification is fast, easy for the higher official’s supervision and also verifying the applicant details precisely.
The application "Very fast“ is developed and used by the Police Department for processing a Passport application. Recently, FICCI and the Central government had appreciated the process with Awards, said a press release.
