1.27 lakh houses sanctioned under PMAY

NewDelhi June 22: A good news for home buyers. The Central government has sanctioned the construction of 1.27 lakh more houses for urban poor people. These houses will be built with an investment of over Rs 6,500 crore under the affordable housing scheme.

Sources say that 20.95 lakh houses have been sanctioned under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (Urban) in last 2 years. Housing and Urban Development Ministry said that the central government would assist Rs 1,915 crore for the new houses to be built.

Uttar Pradesh has received the approval for the construction of 70,784 houses with an investment of Rs 3,528 crore. Karnataka will build 56,281 houses with an investment of Rs 2,950 crore and a center would help by granting Rs 844 crore. The ministry hopes that with the new approval it will finish its mission House for all by 2022.
